Facebook Says People Are Spending Less Time on Its Platform

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg says time spent on the platform took a hit as it implemented changes meant to improve the experience for users.On Tuesday, Facebook announced quarterly earnings, and the CEO said in a statement that already people have been using the social network less because of tweaks to the types of content it has decided to show. This month, Facebook has said it will show more posts from friends and family and fewer from publishers and brands, a move meant to combat low-quality posts, like the false news that circulated around the election of 2016."We made changes to show fewer viral videos to make sure people's time is well spent," Zuckerberg said in Wednesday s announcement.
