Publishers saw a spike in January -- in some cases, traffic jumping sixfold. Instead of a change in behavior, dark social traffic was attributed to LinkedIn. Since then, referrals have grow from 0.1 percent to 0.25 percent, in some cases making up 15 percent of a publisher’s total traffic.
