Every digital publisher is finding it harder to make an advertising buck online. Of note is Legacy.com, which as the leading obituary site has shot life into its business by growing its focus on e-commerce around flowers and charity giving. Today, commerce brings in as much revenue as advertising. Trying to shake down mourners could come off as distasteful, but Legacy.com makes sure the purchase (and overall site) experience is tasteful.
