Obituary site Legacy.com suffers from online trolls like every other digital publisher. But reader engagement through guestbook comments is a core part of its offering, so it can't really shut them down. Instead, it's developed an elaborate screening process over the years that's part machine, part human, for the times when people would speak ill of the dead. "It's not the sort of thing you can totally automate, because people can always find new ways to say bad things," said chief screener Katie Falzone.
