Hearst’s new platform approach: ‘You have to get it right at the start.’

The platform approach has become a favorite tactic of publishers in the quest for scale. But while multi-title publishers Time Inc. and Condé Nast are cautiously rolling out platforms at an individual brand level, Hearst is taking a shortcut to scale.
