But few have nailed the revenue side of the equation, which has been harder to crack. North Carolina’s Charlotte Agenda is trying to solve that problem by eschewing low-CPM display ads in favor of brand-building sponsorships from local and regional advertisers. The site plans to limit its offer to 16 advertisers next year with deals lasting a minimum of six months.
