HBG Sees Gains, Setbacks in its DEI Initiatives

In its fourth annual report on how its diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts are progressing, HBG said 61% of new hires last were BIPOC employees, bringing the percentage of BIPOC staff members to 36.4% of its total workforce. However, progress stalled in expanding BIPOC representation at senior levels and the number of new books bought from BIPOC creators fell as a percentage of all books acquired in 2022.
