We’ll be adding to this post throughout August, so keep coming back. Rolling Stone has been pretty generous to former boy-bander Harry Styles to date. Two years ago, RS named his self-titled debut album one of the “50 Best Albums 2017” (in the No. 17 spot) and last year named his “Sign of the Times” one of the “100 Greatest Songs of the Century—So Far” (at No. 49). Now the One Direction alum and star of a current Gucci campaign lands the cover of the magazine’s September issue in a portrait shot by art-world star Ryan McGinley (who famously landed a solo show of his work at the Whitney Museum of American Art in 2003, when he was just 25). The issue hits newsstands on Sept. 3. Departures, the lifestyle magazine for American Express Platinum Card members published by Meredith Corporation, is turning 30, and to mark the occasion it’s celebrating “visionaries” including Lin-Manuel Miranda. The “Hamilton” creator, seen on the cover in a portrait by Billy Kidd, is joined inside (and on selected additional covers) by “twelve standout individuals whose ideas and actions are helping to move us forward toward sustainability and inclusiveness,” in the words of Departures Editor-in-Chief Jeffries Blackerby.
