Independent publishers have made a strong showing on the Edge Hill Short Story Prize shortlist, claiming five of the six spots. Books published by Calcutta-based Seagull Books, Irish indie Doire Press, Freight, Salt, and Faber have all be selected, as well as Penguin Random House imprint Chatto & Windus.
