Hilary Mantel won the Man Booker prize today, making her the first woman and the first Briton to win the prize twice. Three years ago, Mantel won the prize for Wolf Hall; today, she won the prize for its sequel, Bring Up the Bodies. The trilogy is historical fiction chronicling the life of Thomas Cromwell, chief minister of Henry VIII.
