Game Informer EIC Steps Down After 29 Years | People on the Move

[caption id="attachment_182388" align="alignright" width="150"] Andy McNamara[/caption] Last Friday was Andy McNamara's last day as editor-in-chief of Game Informer, ending a 29-year, 327-issue run at the video gaming magazine. McNamara hasn't yet revealed where he's headed next, but in an interview with The Washington Post on Tuesday, he said he'd been "looking for a change" ever since a round of layoffs last August at GameStop, the retail chain that publishes the magazine, reduced Game Informer's editorial team considerably. [caption id="attachment_182389" align="alignright" width="150"] Andrew Reiner[/caption] "I just felt like that was the end of my run," McNamara said. "I started to look for something new to do and started talking to game companies just to see where I might fit and what I could do." Succeeding McNamara as EIC will be Andrew Reiner, himself a 26-year veteran of the magazine, who is being promoted from executive editor. Here are the rest of this week's people on the move... [caption id="attachment_182387" align="alignright" width="150"] Joyann King[/caption] At Hearst Magazines, Harper's Bazaar's digital executive editorial director, Joyann King, is shifting over to Town & Country and Elle Decor, taking on the new role of executive director of editorial business development for both magazines, where she'll serve as a liaison between the editorial and business teams, working directly with Town & Country editor-in-chief and Elle Decor editorial...
