Willie Anderson retires from John Smith

Anderson began his career at the academic bookseller as a bookshop sales assistant in 1973 and was the first staff member to be appointed to the board six years later, before becoming managing director in 1994. Under this guise he was responsible for expanding both the retail business and library supply arm of the company, and in 2001 as chairman Anderson "masterminded" the sale of the business to its current owner and chair Peter Gray. read more Continue reading at 'The Bookseller'
