Usborne signs YA from Alexander

Usborne has signed a YA novel from Birkbeck creative writing MA alumni Sarah Alexander. Fiction deputy director Anne Finnis acquired UK and Commonwealth rights from Hellie Ogden at Janklow & Nesbit UK, while US rights have sold to Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Books for Young Readers. The novel, The Art of Not Breathing, follows a Scottish teenager who must face her family's tragic past as she investigates the mystery around her twin brother's drowning.
