TripAdvisor scoops up Dutch restaurant ratings website

Newton-based TripAdvisor said Thursday it agreed to acquire a leading Dutch restaurant ratings website for an undisclosed sum. According to Dutch reports, the deal for Iens.nl was valued at $11.8 million, Reuters reported. Iens.nl allows people to book reviews through SeatMe, which was also acquired by TripAdvisor (Nasdaq: TRIP). According to one Dutch report, Iens.nl was founded in 1998 by Iens Boswijk and is the biggest restaurant site in the Netherlands.
