Obama's first post entailed a message about climate change, with a video in which he gives a brief tour of the White House backyard and tells listeners that a fox and a hawk regularly roam the area. He emphasized that nature's beauty is worth preserving. At publishing time, about an hour after the page—which was verified by Facebook—went live, it had garnered 100,000 likes. The Facebook move comes six months after the commander in chief launched a Twitter account for the position of POTUS. Obama will likely be remembered as the first "social-media president."
