Viewers of The Colbert Report got the word early that the host was at work on a children's book: He brought it up during an interview with the children's author Maurice Sendak last month. A video of the interview went viral—which shows why Mr. Colbert is such a valuable publishing property.Titled I Am a Pole (And So Can You!), the book will be published May 8. The title is a play on Mr. Colbert's bestseller I Am America (And So Can You!). A follow-up to that book, called America Again: Re-Becoming the Greatness We Never Weren't, will be published in October.Mr. Colbert was in the news last week when he abruptly cancelled tapings of his show; it is believed that his 91-year-old mother had a health emergency.
