Are you ready for a bombshell? Turns out people who read ebooks read more books than those don't. That tidbit comes from the number crunchers at Pew. According to a new report titled "The Rise of E-Reading," the ebook readers read an average of 24 books in the past year, versus the 15 books read by those who didn't. Also, not particularly surprising is the fact that the percent of folks reading ebooks is on the rise as well -- the number who claimed to have read an ebook in the year prior made a bit of a jump from 17-percent in December to 21-percent in February. Naturally, the whole printed thing is still a bit more widespread, with 72-percent claiming to have read a paper-type book in the year prior, when surveyed back in December.Shocker: People who read ebooks read more originally appeared on Engadget on Thu, 05 Apr 2012 22:27:00 EDT. Where else can you find women in such open and raw relationships to other women? I enjoy reading books by all kinds of... Continue reading at Literrary Hub

I have loved reading science fiction since age ten, when my school librarian handed me a copy of Jill Patton Walsh’s The Green Book. Sometimes, the most powerful stories to read are the ones you see yourself, or a part of yourself, reflected back in. Growing up as a quadruplet, I always knew there was something rare about me and my sisters. Strangers at the mall would stop our stroller procession and ask questions like, Hold... My particular variety of feminism has long been one devoted to the idea that women’s lives are not solely defined by their familial roles (wife, mother, sister, etc). Women’s lives are shaped by the communities they build, run from, collide within, and redefine. Communities of women, those whom... Continue reading at Literrary Hub
