Longtime Glamour Editor Joins People Magazine | People on the Move

People editor-in-chief Dan Wakeford announced his first hire and several promotions since taking on his new role in March. [caption id="attachment_160467" align="alignright" width="150"] Wendy Naugle[/caption] Wendy Naugle was brought on as the new deputy editor for the magazine. She joins Meredith from Condé Nast, where she spent the past nine years as the executive editor of Glamour. In her new role, Naugle will be tasked with overseeing the launch of the brand’s new editorial offerings and working closely with Zoe Ruderman, editor of People.com, to oversee the newsroom. She will also serve as the liaison between the editorial and business sides of the publication. Starting July 9, she will report to Wakeford. Three editorial promotions were also made this week: Kate Coyne is taking on the role of editorial director of entertainment, where she will be tasked with leading all entertainment coverage including the music, TV and film verticals. In addition to this, she will spearhead the “The Beautiful” and “Sexiest Man Alive” special issues, and edit the brand’s new franchise of first person essays. Most recently executive editor, Coyne has been with the brand for over 11 years and prior to that, she worked for Good Housekeeping and the New York Post. She will report to Naugle.
