Boston Globe executive to take new post of chief digital and product officer at Scotsman and Yorkshire Post publisherJohnston Press has hired Jeff Moriarty, one of the Boston Globe's top digital executives, in the newly-created role of chief digital and product officer.Moriarty, who joins the Scotsman and Yorkshire Post publisher on 1 April, is currently vice-president of digital products for the Boston Globe and general manager of Boston.com.He has credits including the development of regional subscription based site of BostonGlobe.com.As a former executive at the New York Times, he was responsible for building digital businesses in the automotive and jobs sectors, as well as developing video and mobile strategy."Jeff's exceptional track record will underpin the acceleration of our digital strategy as we seek to transform local media," said the Johnston Press chief executive, Ashley Highfield.
