In the wake of declines, Time Inc. centralizes digital desks

With print advertising on the wane, big publishing houses are looking to be as efficient as possible. And so magazine giant Time Inc. is creating 10 virtual desks to improve coordination of coverage. The challenge is to make resources go farther without watering down the essence of the brands. To that end, Time Inc. is having staffers contribute to the desks' coverage, but will stay where they are.
