Bloomsbury’s Apple and Rain by Sarah Crossan and When Mr Dog Bites by Brian Conaghan are on the shortlist, as are Once Upon an Alphabet by Oliver Jeffers and Beyond the Stars compiled by Sarah Webb, which are both published by HarperCollins Children’s Books.
