Weekday and Saturday editions of newspaper to cost 20p more as the Times also increases price by same amountThe Guardian is to raise the price of its weekday and Saturday editions by 20p, following Monday's price rise for the Times.From 11 January, the Saturday edition of the Guardian will increase from £2.30 to £2.50, while from 13 January the weekday edition will climb from £1.40 to £1.60.The Saturday Guardian price rise at the weekend will be accompanied by the launch of a new lifestyle supplement. The Saturday edition has also undergone a design revamp, with changes including the Money supplement moving into the main section of the paper.The Guardian last raised the price of the weekday and Saturday editions in January last year.The Observer, also published by Guardian News & Media, will remain at £2.70 - its cover price rose 20p in September, when the new Tech Monthly supplement launched."While price rises are never easy decisions, it will enable us to continue to offer our loyal and engaged audience an improved, quality product, despite the tough market," said a spokeswoman for GNM.
