Why is Lantana expanding into fiction in 2022? It was always in the back of our minds. We love picture books but we also love midde-grade. We thought it was the right time for two reasons: we received a submission that we thought could be the first book in our fiction list, Starlet Rivals by Puneet Bhandal; we also got to a place where we felt we could sustain it as a business. We celebrated our seventh anniversary this year. Our readers have grown and some of our followers who really love books ask us when we are going to publish books for older readers.
