Egmont has acquired Mel Foster and the Demon Butler, a middle grade adventure story set in Victorian London, by Julia Golding. Fiction publisher Stella Paskins acquired the world English rights from Caroline Walsh at David Higham Associates. The book, which is about an orphan who takes on Queen Victoria’s evil butler, is an “original, pacy adventure” and is a “great read for both boys and girls”, said Paskins.
