Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy, writer Ali Smith, and historian and novelist Marina Warner are among those named in the New Year Honours 2015. Duffy is made a Dame for services to poetry, while Warner, whose Once Upon a Time: A Short History of Fairy Tale (Oxford University Press) was published this autumn, receives a Damehood for services to higher education and literary scholarship.
