Daily Express and Daily Star websites make ABC debuts – at the bottom

Owner Richard Desmond agrees to officially audited figures for monthly visitors to dailystar.co.uk and express.co.ukOfficially audited traffic figures for the Daily Star and Daily Express websites have been published for the first time – ranking them bottom in the national newspaper online market.The two website's debut figures from the Audit Bureau of Circulations show that dailystar.co.uk had 5,796,064 monthly browsers and express.co.uk 9,369,809 in February.The disclosure of ABC figures for both sites marks a change in tack from owner Richard Desmond, who had previously decided against the independent auditing of traffic figures.In February, the number of daily average unique browsers to dailystar.co.uk was 327,098 and 441,032 to express.co.uk.Across the rest of the market, Mail Online continues to dominate, registering 165,886,627 monthly browsers, although this was down 12.47% on the previous month.Mail Online's daily average browser figure was 11,241,257, which was down 4.48% on January.Theguardian.com, the Guardian News & Media website network which includes Theguardian.com/media, reported a monthly browser figure of 91,106,978, up 0.86% on the month, while its average daily browser figure was 5,393,452, up 7.85%.According to Guardian News & Media, the traffic to the site was largely driven by overseas users while the recent Snowden revelations proved popular online.David Pemsel, deputy chief executive of Guardian News & Media, said: "Our digital growth...
