Bradley wins £20k Notting Hill Essay Prize

David Bradley has won the £20,000 Notting Hill Editions Essay Prize 2015.    Bradley won the prize for his essay “A Eulogy for Nigger”. The essay was written in response to the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People burial of the word in 2007. Bradley’s essay is described as an impassioned defence of the term "as a history and as a concept”. Chair of the judges Adam Mars-Jones described the essay as “a thoroughly disconcerting reading experience, richly mischievous, subtle in its anger”.   Continue reading at 'The Bookseller'
