Atlantic's new m.d. Will Atkinson has said the publisher needs to "return to its heartland" as it looks to turn performance around after three consecutive years of losses. Atkinson moved from Faber to take on the leadership role in October, following a turbulent period for Atlantic which saw it record 2013 losses of £1.4m and go through high-profile departures including those of editor-in-chief Ravi Mirchandani and founder Toby Mundy.
