4 Shout-Outs to Publishers Doing Their Part During the COVID-19 Outbreak | May 1

We continue to be inspired by all of the thoughtful acts of kindness around the publishing industry. Collectively, our industry is coming together and using our compassion and creativity to help others. To date, we have given 24 shout-outs that have no doubt made an impact on several thousands of people and businesses. Keep up the great work! Food & Wine Meredith’s Food & Wine has partnered with the Southern Smoke Foundation to help support food and beverage industry workers who have been impacted by the pandemic. Southern Smoke was founded by a 2013 honoree of the magazine’s “Best New Chef” franchise, Chris Shepherd. The emergency relief fund has distributed more than $1.1 million to people in need during the COVID-19 crisis. In addition to a $10,000 donation from Food & Wine, the brand is also using its print, digital, and social media platforms in the coming weeks to continue advocating for the industry and Southern Smoke’s mission. Eyecare Business Magazine PentaVision Media’s B2B magazine Eyecare Business launched “The EB Covid-19 Strategies Series," a weekly live-stream editorial series for its audience of eye care professionals. The free, hour-long stream can be accessed on Facebook and YouTube and features panel discussions with optometrists, opticians and various other business experts and discuss a range of topics aimed at helping its community navigate this uncertain, challenging time.
