A former top Amazon employee has revealed that European Commission president Jean-Claude Juncker acted as a “business partner” to the company when it came to negotiating its tax arrangements. Bob Comfort, the former head of tax for Amazon, has given an interview with Luxembourg newspaper d’Lëtzebuerger Land revealing that Juncker, the former Luxembourg prime minister, pursued the global online company when it was deciding where to base it European headquarters.
