Journalist, who has been editor of trade magazine Broadcast since 2007, will take over from Louise Benson on 24 FebruaryLisa Campbell, editor of trade magazine Broadcast, has been appointed director of the Guardian Edinburgh International Television Festival.Campbell has been with the TV industry weekly for a decade and editor since 2007. She will start her new job as GEITF director on 24 February, taking over from Louise Benson.Benson is leaving the job after three years to join the Cannes Lions festival as launch director of Lions Health and director of Eurobest.Elaine Bedell, ITV director of entertainment and comedy, also announced on Thursday that she will be stepping down as GEITF executive chair following the 2014 event in August, after four years in the role.Chris Shaw, the ITN Productions editorial director, will be taking over from Bedell.Bedell said: "[Lisa's] got a great reputation within the industry and has proved in her six years as editor of Broadcast that she's unafraid to tackle difficult subjects. She's full of ideas about the festival's future, and we can't wait to start working with her."Campbell said: "The TV festival is an incredible event and one that I've always wanted to be more involved in.
