Iraqi libraries ransacked

Libraries in the Iraqi city of Mosul have been ransacked by Isis militants, with the central library destroyed using explosives. According to reports in the Independent, observers on the ground believe that more than 112,000 manuscripts and books have been destroyed, including several titles registered on a UNESCO rarities list.
