[caption id="attachment_181565" align="alignright" width="150"] Samira Nasr[/caption] For the first time in nearly two decades, Harper's Bazaar has a new editor-in-chief. Samira Nasr, currently the executive fashion director at Vanity Fair, has been named the next top editor of the publication's U.S. edition, Hearst Magazines announced Tuesday. Nasr succeeds Glenda Bailey, who announced she was stepping down from that post in January after a 19-year run to take on a global consulting role for the magazine. It's a return to Hearst for Nasr, who was fashion director at Elle from 2013 to 2018, when she jumped to Condé Nast to join Vanity Fair under then-newly appointed editor-in-chief Radhika Jones. Prior to Elle, Nasr was style director at InStyle. "As the proud daughter of a Lebanese father and Trinidadian mother, my worldview is expansive and is anchored in the belief that representation matters. My lens, by nature, is colorful, and so it is important to me to begin a new chapter in Bazaar's history by shining a light on all individuals who I believe are the inspiring voices of our time," she said. "It is a thrilling challenge to be in a position to reimagine what a fashion magazine can be in today's world,... Continue reading at 'Folio Magazine'
