The author, an established star of YA fiction with her Mortal Instruments series, has signed a two-book, seven-figure deal with Pan MacmillanThe writer Cassandra Clare, whose stories of the half-angel shadowhunters in the Mortal Instruments series have won her legions of teenage fans, has landed a book deal worth more than £1m for her first venture into writing for adults.Clare’s Sword Catcher books will, said the author, tell of “a young man raised to be the body double for an unworthy prince, [and] a young woman destined to change the world”.
