The surprise device is called the Kobo Vox eReader, and ships on 28th October, two weeks ahead of Amazon's Kindle Fire tablet. The Vox is marginally lighter than the Fire, and offers the same seven inch touch screen. It also runs on Android, with an integrated music and video player.
