If you couldn't get tickets to our Ad Age A-List & Creativity Awards gala on Monday April 15, there's always the American Marketing Association’s Hall of Fame induction at R/GA the following evening. A trio of the ad world’s power brokers are getting their due there: Keith Weed, chief marketing and communications officer for Unilever; Ann Lewnes, exec VP and chief marketing officer, Adobe; and Wendy Clark, global CEO at DDB Worldwide. The invite promises you can “rub shoulders with some of New York's most important marketers.” Beware chafing. Stagwell strikes again It’s not quite as headline-grabbing as taking an $100 million stake in MDC, but Mark Penn’s Stagwell Group is building its empire with the purchase of MultiView, a programmatic buying, targeting and publishing platform for b-to-b marketers and associations. According to Stagwell’s press release, programmatic b-to-b is growing at a 16 percent annual clip. Since Penn’s a former Microsoft exec, we’ll take his word for it. Rats! “Glee” star Jane Lynch plays a do-it-yourself pest control wannabe in a new push for Clark Pest Control from Nimmea Advertising and Hazy Mill Productions. The spot also features Matty Cardarople, from “Stranger Things,” in a role in which he looks a bit like the Incredible Hulk. Or maybe Shrek.
